Additional Holiday Entitlement

The statutory minimum holiday entitlement allowed to all workers is increasing on 1st October.

The current entitlement of four weeks will be increased to 4.8 weeks, or four extra days for someone who works a five day week. This is the first step towards the Government's plan to add the eight public holidays to the basic four weeks' holiday entitlement, although employees will not have the right to actually take holiday on the days the public holidays fall.
