New National Minimum Wage Rates announced

The Low Pay Commission has announced the rates for the National Minimum Wage that will apply from 1st October 2009.

The current and new rates are:

£3-57

The rises equate to increases of 1.2%.

In addition, the government has also confirmed that it intends to bring 21 year olds into the "adult" rate of the National Minimum Wage (which currently applies from age 22) from October 2010.
