ISO Survey shows a growth in ISO 14001

ISO 14001:2004, which provides the requirements for Environmental Management Systems, continues to report growth despite the recession.

Up to January 2009, at least 188,815 ISO 14001:2004 certificates had been issued in 155 countries. This represents an increase of 34,243 (+22%) on the previous year, when the total was 154,572 in 148 countries. The service sector accounted for 34% of certificates, compared to 29% in 2007.
