Employment Law FAQ

Bringing Mother

An employee has asked if he can bring his mother to a disciplinary hearing tomorrow. What should I say to him?

The legal entitlement is to be accompanied by either a work colleague or a Trade Union representative. So, you can refuse his request. However, if you wish to allow his mother to attend, especially if you feel it would be beneficial, that is entirely up to you.
