For those businesses who feel they have most of the internal competencies and resources to implement their own EMS, our step-by-step Environmental Toolkit will help guide them through the EMS implementation process.
The integrated toolkit package is structured into 6 sections: -
Section 1 – The Introduction. This explains the structure of the whole toolkit and how it should be used. It also introduces some important terms used and provides a summary of environmental legislation.
Section 2 – Environmental Management Toolkit. This section takes you through the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard step by step, enabling you to understand the process of implementing an effective Environmental Management System.
Section 3 – Environmental Management System. This is your ‘Environmental Management Manual’, it is based on the ISO 14001 standards, the guidance in Section 2 and the information that you have provided to Mentor Services about your organisation. The policies and procedures contained within Section 3 refer to ‘Forms’ provided in Section 4.
Section 4 – Forms. This section contains a range of forms that are referenced in Section 3. These forms will help you keep records, identify incidents and generally manage your environmental arrangements.
Section 5 – Environmental Guidance Notes. This section contains a range of environmental guidance notes which will help you understand the legal requirements applicable to your business. These are periodically updated by Mentor and if you purchase the update service these are made available through a 'client area' on our website, or if necessary by email/ post.
Section 6 – Environmental Records. This section should be used to store your environmental records and documentation as well as any other environmental information that you may need to access.
