Litigation

No matter how careful you are, there is always a chance that your business needs to defend itself against employment tribunal claims.

Why choose Mentor?

Our dedicated and experienced litigators have an in-depth understanding of a wide range of issues. No matter what type of complaint you are faced with, you can be assured we will have dealt with a similar situation before.

We realise that it can be a stressful time for you and your business when you receive a tribunal claim. Mentor are here to support you and put your mind at ease over the next few weeks in the preparation of the case and in the run up to the hearing itself.

When do you need Mentor

There may be an instance where you face problems with an employee or former employee who believes they have been treated unfairly. You could even be taken to an employment tribunal by someone you decide not to recruit.

In the year to March 2010 over 236,000* claims were accepted by the Employment Tribunals Service - an annual increase of 156%.

These included complaints of unfair dismissal, discrimination on grounds of race, sex, age, disability, religion and sexual orientation, unauthorised deduction of wages, breach of contract, redundancy pay and many more.

If you get it wrong the results can be extremely damaging for your organisation. Just think how much this could cost you, not forgetting the risk of reputational damage?
