Medical Referral
Not all health conditions and problems concerning sick employees
are clear-cut and, in such cases, our Medical Referral service
enables you to refer an individual for an independent medical
assessment.
The assessment, together with any relevant medical reports, will
provide you with a clear understanding of the impact that the
employee’s condition will have on their role within the business
and also advise on their likely return to work date.
Once we have reviewed the referral you can discuss the matter
with our Company Medical Adviser, who can help you deal with it
effectively, focusing on getting the individual back to work in the
most appropriate manner.
They may, for example, refer the employee for treatment or
rehabilitation or advise ill-health early retirement. This service
can be used for both short-term and long-term absence.
